Parents
enjoy learning to massage
their babies.
It
promotes bonding and attachment.
A number of important elements
help form the bond between
parent and child. These include
sharing eye-to-eye contact, skin-to-skin
contact, facial expressions,
soothing sounds,
cuddling, and smell.
Infant
massage incorporates these
critical elements of bonding and
provides a special time that
fosters mutual love, compassion,
and respect.
Additionally, parents have an
opportunity to chat with other
parents and share their
experiences.
Learning
infant massage helps parents have
a focused one-on-one time with
their baby.
During
infant massage classes, there are
no
"performance standards."
Massage is done at the pace the
babies are willing to accept.
Our
CEIM's are well trained to help
guide parents to learn the strokes
and cue into their baby's body
language.
Learn
to massage your baby and start enjoying
the many benefits
nurturing touch
can bring.
Private
and group classes are available.
Class
Overview
Our certified
educators provide classes which
run 1 - 1 1/2 hours for four to
five weeks. The classes
are based on the guidelines
presented by Infant Massage A
Handbook for Loving Parent's
author Vimala McClure.
This class, available in private
or group settings, helps parents
learn their baby's language and
create an intimate loving
relationship. New strokes
are introduced each class so
babies are not overstimulated.
Various topics are discussed each
class to support parents in their
new role.
Infant
Massage Educators
When
looking for a parent class make
sure the course is conducted by a
Certified Educator of Infant
Massage (CEIM). Each CEIM has
completed intensive training and
practicum work to gain knowledge
and experience in order to provide
a high quality course.
CEIM's are committed to helping parents
learn interactive communication
with their baby through nurturing loving
touch. Please contact a
CEIM
near you for information.
