Infant Massage USA Trainings are the Gold-Standard
Our complete 28-hour trainings are led by experienced Trainers who have been certified by the International Association of Infant Massage in a two-year process. Our International Trainers can help you staff become Certified Educators of Infant Massage (CEIMS), who teach families to massage their own babies and use dolls to demonstrate strokes and positioning..
Our Trainings are interactive, in-depth, research-based, and cover home visits and one-on-one teaching. Included in the complete four-day training is information about infant communication and needs, special needs, working with drug-exposed babies and babies born early, and adjusting the massage for older children. Each Training includes a live parent-baby class and a chance for each participant to teach families themselves. A follow-up written assignment and practicum (teaching five parents to massage their baby), earns certification as a CEIM.
The Infant Massage USA Training is designed for early intervention, home visitors, parent educators, and health professionals who work with families, in hospitals, and as parenting consultants. It is recognized for CEUs for Nurses, OTs, PTs, Lactation Consultants, Doulas, Massage Therapists, Child Birth Educators, Child Life Specialists and more.
There are two ways to train your team!
Join a Public Training
You can send team members to any CEIM Training on our calendar. Infant Massage USA delivers the same interactive four-day Trainings whether in-person or streamed online.
We offer a 10% discount for groups of 3 or more participants who register together. There’s also an additional Early Bird Discount if you register 3 or more weeks in advance. The Training fee includes all reading materials and a year-long Infant Massage USA membership for all participants.
All participants will need a life-size baby doll that can be purchased through the Infant Massage USA Store.
Set Up a Private Training
You can host a Private Training for your team, and even invite staff from other nearby organizations.
The Trainer will travel to your site and support your team in developing an infant massage program for the families you work with.
A private training can provide substantial savings over paying overtime, travel and lodging expenses for staff members. The costs for training each person go down after 12 (and up to 20) participants, but many agencies will train even a small staff locally because of the convenience, reduction of stress, and reduced travel expenses for their team.

Develop an Infant Massage Program for Your Families
Your Trainer, whether you train privately or at a public training, can support you as you integrate infant massage into the curriculum that you already use with families.
“Don’t think of infant massage as another thing you’ve got to teach families. Think of it as a tool you can to use to connect parents with their babies, to get them in touch with, and fulfilling, their babies’ needs. It is a deep and heartfelt way for families to communicate. While it rarely works to just talk to families about connecting with their baby more, Infant Massage bypasses the brain and goes straight to the heart for both parents and babies.”
- IMUSA Trainer Jody Wright to her students
“Infant Massage is the most satisfying work I have ever done. One of the Early Hard Start staff people I consult with told me: ‘It is the most perfect thing to accomplish all our goals. It does everything we are hoping for.’ Infant massage gets people to focus on what’s going on with their baby. All the talk, all the hours we spend with families, yet infant massage just does it so quickly.”
